Not sure what to say here; I have several friends on various levels of meds, and I suspect none of them are likely to rape and kill children if they go off those meds. I think you are making a generalization fallacy here; there is a fundamental difference between the relative severity of illnesses; at least I hope your anecdotal evidence of missing your meds is indicative of that. I specifically note that the guy's problem is "probably in part" due to it; dependent on the diagnosed severity of the problem, there should be a corresponding increase in effort to follow the program.
What's more, I am assuming you are not even fantasizing about raping and killing 10 year olds, which speaks more to the point I want to make. This man knew on some level that he was about to make some very bad decisions. At that point he should have sought additional help.
