I've become interested in MMA recently; it's intense to watch, and incredibly competitive. And it's rapidly evolving as a sport - so much potential. And in much the same way that watching professional soccer matches can bring the urge to run around on a field and play some futsal or nerfed soccer on a park field, I've been feeling the urge to brush up my sparring skills and step onto a mat and go a few rounds of serious roughhousing.
Fortunately, a couple of videos have caused me to see the light. Getting in and pitting one's self against another person provides constant, unpredictable opportunities for things to go Horribly, Horribly Wrong. I've included the links here, but not embedded the video, because these are crazy traumatic, and I'm not actively encouraging people to watch stuff they'd normally avoid. You have been warned:
But seriously, ow....

- YouTube - Tomomi vs Sexton bodog fight: A seriously bad dislocation leg injury. Do not watch if even mildly empathetic to pain.
- IFL Video: Brutal Guillotine Choke: The way this guy's neck bends -- I'm stunned that he's alive, let alone conscious moments afterward. He may be a Skrull, or have mutant neck-bending powers.
But seriously, ow....
