What else would explain their otherwise mediocre standing? Imbecility? :/

Bundles have always struck me as stopgap measures. The real deals come with price drops or with the really huge, well-known IPs. LBP is still a bit of an unknown player. It may bomb or it may not. The consensus on GAF is very mixed.
