votes away
Oct. 21st, 2004 10:53 amI spent two hours reading up on my choices for the ballot, connected all the little arrows for the desired votes, and was gleeful as I made my choice *for* Kerry and against The Shrub. The BIG ASS Absentee Ballot went in the mail this morning; it cost me ¥400 to cast my vote from Japan, and I'm happy to have spent it. I wasn't pro-Kerry so much as anti-Bush in the beginning, but I have found some respect for the Kerry recently. I think he suffers from Jimmy Carter Syndrome, which causes compulsive explanation of all the factors that are in play in any given situation whether or not the audience is able to parse such information (or, indeed, even interested in it). I hope he trounces The Shrub in November; the USA deserves better than the current band of cutthroat privateers that have gamed our system into a mockery of itself.
