By the time the average person finishes college he or she will have taken over 2,600 tests, quizzes and exams. The 'right answer' approach becomes deeply ingrained in our thinking. This may be fine for some mathematical problems, where there is in fact only one right answer. The difficulty is that most of life isn't that way. Life is ambiguous; there are many right answers -- all depending on what you are looking for. But when we think that there is only one right answer, we'll stop looking as soon as we find one.

Pretty sure that I have previously bemoaned the lack of Mexican food in my part of Japan. I haven't sought it out in Tokyo, but Osaka is barren for the stuff. There was a shop called Pink Adobe in Osaka, and I found that there was a branch in Kobe. When I went there on Saturday, our first trip to Kobe in nearly a year, Pink Adobe was out of business, the storefront featuring the kind of gutted appearance of a shop that has been cleared out for some months, and the new inhabitants of the space not yet decided.

All this by wayward way of saying, I would dearly love a burrito right about now. Preferably big and smooshy, with a lot of sour cream and maybe chili colorado.

...

This is SO not helping.
