Yeah, they keep trying to sneak it through. There is a lobbying force that has convinced the US government that the future is intellectual property and protection of it. They're only beginning to see how the US influence does not extend outside its borders on the internet, and I suspect there's a lot of panic and overreaction in both the lobbyists and the politicians in whom they've induced The Phear.
