SciFi Channel is starting a TV series based on The Dresden Files? I had heard a mess of good stuff about the books, so I just picked up the first of them. I had no idea that they were getting their own show... The role of Harry is played by Paul Blackthorne, who did not particularly impress me as the main villain of season 3 of "24" - but that might have been the material, not his ability as an actor.

I found the books got better further on in the series - Butcher has a talent for "And then things got worse" moments.

Google doesn't love me. I'll assume you mean book 4 of the series, and not the pornstar who was in Femalien II:

Femalien II picks up kind of where Femalien left off. Kara has been running all over southern California have sex with everyone and two other aliens are sent to bring her back. The bulk of the movie is these aliens visiting various locations where they think they might find Kara, and watching or participating in sex.

I'll record it for you since it's on right before BSG. I've heard nothing about it at all except for a very small review in EW where they gave it a C+.

That's a /really/ kind offer. If it's not a problem, that would be great. If it's in any way non-trivial though, don't worry about it. I am fairly adept at navigating the bittorrent highway to TV content at this point. There will likely be a rip of the show available within an hour of its initial showing.

I ended up not being able to record it for you. Sorry! That being said, I watched about half of it and it was AWFUL! The acting was uniformly terrible, the story was pedestrian, and there was little to no cool supernatural drama. Think of it like the worst episode of Buffy combined with the worst episode of the X-Files.

Thanks for the mini-review. That's honestly about what I expected from it, though I will still probably seek out a P2P copy of it.

If the main character is terrible, I feel bad for him - the same actor started off with a reasonable presence in "24" Day 3, but by the end was reduced to almost caricature performance of insanity.
