Yeah, that dawned on me a bit; it was inspiring to hear that the guy just chalked it up to a rough night on the town. In the USA, the victim would be suing the guy, the bar, the maker of the chair...

Yep. Australians are just cooler than us. That's been proven. It might be because our country was founded by religious crazies and slaveholders, whereas theirs was founded by convicts and pirates.

I'm not sure about that Australian theory, but I do tend to think of Canadians as slightly-more-rational Americans. It could be that I've just been lucky; I /have/ met one Canuck who was an arrogant bully, but he has to-date been the exception to the rule.

Incidentally, I groove on that icon. I wandered between disgust and amusement when that ad campaign was running here, and then I realized that Lucas has damaged the mythos more than any mere marketing veep might manage.
