Yeah, pretty much. The show had a lot of potential for telling a great story, but the producers/network execs seem to have made a clear decision to abandon that in favour of appealing to the lowest common denominator. They succeeded famously. So much so, that people who normally enjoy soap operas are getting into the show.
Yoinks. Thanks for the warning. I'll adjust my expectations accordingly. I may still be pleasantly surprised, but you've just listed the main reason I abandoned Star Trek: Deep Space 90210.
