Actually, that's what Hotmail looked like, and still looks like if you aren't doing the Live Beta. The service has gone through some serious, tumultuous changes -- and it's still utterly crap, and unresponsive. I'll take Gmail over Hotmail or Yahoo Mail any day of the week.
