I think the point of this story is, here's a person who was so entirely fucking irrational when she felt threatened that she entirely failed to think through the consequences of her actions.

Burning a bridge consciously means thinking to some degree, Yeah, I won't be able to take this back, but I am willing - preferring - to take this route.

You're right; that's a career-ender, though she'll probably get hired by a company it limited 'net awareness and desperate for ANY help in the IT field.

well personally, imho, any IT person that is going to maliciously erase a client's/employer's data and doesn't know enough to 35x zero all data overwrite doesn't deserve the job in the first place. c'mon. if you're going to do it, do it right.

and i know she didn't because if she had drivesavers would not have been able to recover the files (that's the super-expensive data recovery service mentioned at the end).
