News - Fedor demolishes Sylvia in 36 seconds | MMAFighting.com:

Former PRIDE champion Fedor Emelianenko lived up to the hype and then some, disposing of former UFC champion Tim Sylvia in 36 seconds at "Affliction: Banned" Saturday in Anaheim, California.

From the opening bell, Fedor moved inside the six-foot-eight Sylvia and launched huge lefts and rights to send the Miletich fighter tumbling. Fedor then secured a rear choke to force the tap out in just over half-a-minute.

"You never know how short or long the fight will be," Fedor said. "But I just wanted to end it as quickly as possible. I just wanted to show the fans myskills."

Fedor didn't hesitate to finish Sylvia as soon as the fight went to the ground, knowing that Sylvia's previous fight also ended by choke submission, in a loss to current UFC interim champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

"Yeah I was hoping I would end the fight then," Fedor said. "I was prepared to fight standing up, but I knew I had a better chance to end it on the ground."

Fedor was crowned the first ever WAMMA heavyweight champion and improved his record to 28-1, while Sylvia fell to 24-5.

"I was amazed at how good he is," Sylvia said. "The guy's a stud. I don't think he’s human. He’s incredible. I don't think anybody’s going to beat him for a while."

Goddamn. Strikes me that sort of action could either make your game very interesting or overwhelmingly dull, depending on which side of the smack-and-choke you're on.

Yeah, you're right. However it's the Banned Affliction promotion, so... whole different card. But balance is pretty tricky.
