I've just finished a package of Twinings powdered "Chai" stuff, and it does not impress at all. Maybe if I boiled some ginger down to a hefty concentrate, I could get some decent spiciness, but that's a half-measure.

Does anyone know a good DIY recipe for brewing masala chai?

I just finished the new Snapple lightly sweetened Earl Grey and it was complete and utter crap. It tasted just like normal Snapple with that weird acidic sweetness that leaves an aftertaste. It's like the Tab of the tea world. I'm very upset typing this and can barely hold it together.

It sounds like maybe that Crapple had just a little too much caffeine in it, though! ;-)

Did you like the instant chai I sent you? I'd be more than happy to send the recipe. It's not really healthful, but it's easy.

Hiya!

I did like that stuff, thanks. It was especially nice in winter. I bet if I made a concentrated version by dissolving a lot of powder with just a little hot water, then pouring that over ice and adding more water or milk or ginger-water to taste, it'd work pretty well!
